Natuurlijke Asfalt
Gilsonite is een natuurlijke, harsachtige koolwaterstoffen. Dit natuurlijk asfalt is vergelijkbaar met harde aardolie asfalt en wordt vaak een natuurlijk asfalt, Asphaltite, Natuurlijk bitumen, of asphaltum. Gilsonite is oplosbaar in aromatische en alifatische oplosmiddelen, alsmede aardolie asfalt. Door zijn unieke compatibiliteit, Gilsonite wordt vaak gebruikt voor het uitharden zachter aardolie products.Gilsonite in massa is een glanzende, zwarte stof, vergelijkbaar met het uiterlijk van de minerale obsidiaan. Het is broos en kunnen gemakkelijk worden geplet in een donker bruin poeder.
